Recently I teamed up with my like-minded friends at TwistyRide.com to test and review their motorcycle gear, much of which I already use or have used at some point.
If you don’t know of TwistyRide.com it’s a new company that’s well worth checking out, it’s run by a couple of French lads, Cedric and Remi who like myself, literally live for motorbike touring. Using their years of touring experience, they set up TwistyRide.com to source and sell tried and tested gear, i.e. the best gear they can get their hands on, both for everyday use and full on motorbike touring. Their product range includes Givi, Kappa, Draggin Jeans, Gear Gremlins, Scottoiler, Weise, Haynes Manuals, Bering, Bagster and Forcefield, all of which I will be reviewing which should be interesting.

Their website also has loads of good tips and advice for motorbike touring, but more interestingly, they have actually designed their own waterproof iPhone case/holder and a charger that runs off a motorbike or scooters battery. They then had a chat with the lads in RAM Mounts who will now be supplying the mounting systems for their charger, some of which are really very cleaver. Unfortunately for me I’m not an iPhone fan and quite happy with my Galaxy S2 so I have not had a chance to test it yet, but I love the idea of mounting a smart phone to my bike as I’m really starting to see the benefits of having a smart phone when touring for handy map apps, booking B&B’s etc.
There are a few protective cases on the market to mount the Galaxy S2 onto my motorbike, but they have mixed reviews and I’m not keen to trust a €20 case made by the lowest bidder in China to protect my Galaxy S2 which cost me €500. I think Cedric and Remi in TwistyRide had the exact same issues which is why they have designed their own system.
